Dr. Nicoletta Orphanou is a cardiologist in Nicosia, Cyprus, specializing in diagnosing and treating heart conditions. In 2024 she was elected President of the Working Group of Cardiovascular Imaging in Cyprus.

 

Her expertise lies in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography. She has a particular interest in valve disorders and cardiomyopathies, which are inherited diseases of the heart muscle.

She completed her specialization in Cardiology at both the General Hospital of Nicosia and the General Hospital of Athens – “G. Gennimatas”. Notably, she was also involved in research on inherited cardiac diseases and sudden cardiac death during her training, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field.

Following her specialization, Dr. Orphanou further subspecialized in transesophageal echocardiography, with a particular focus on valvular diseases, at the renowned Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK.
